New York City-based Brevity made a splash at this year's NAB conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, and now it's hoping to capture the same heat at NAB. Brevity offers an innovative solution for moving large video files for editing and distribution, one that compresses files greatly and then transcodes them to the desired format during distribution.

Brevity's technology was used in the London Olympics by NBC. In fact, the company is finding a strong demand from the sports industry, since sports content needs to be timely to be relevant. That's why Brevity is introducing a sports industry focus at IBC, showing that it can meet demanding and time-sensitive requirements for sports broadcasters in Europe and North America. It plans to show broadcasters that they can send and receive highlights faster, save money on sports programming, and simplify production truck file-based workflows.

Brevity supports such formats as Avid DNxHD and EVS MXF, as well as ProRes. It works with Apple Final Cut Pro, Sony cameras, and more. Brevity's system uses cloud-based enterprise media management, automated project-driven workflows, and proprietary compression algorithms.

At IBC, Brevity is exhibiting with Media Logic, which provides digital solutions for sports and television broadcasters in Europe. It can be found at Media Logic's booth J17 in Hall 7.
